Meet Our Team
Charlie Bando
His pursuit of the game of hockey landed him a spot at Castleton University in Castleton, Vermont. Charlie went on to graduate from Castleton University with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. While at Castleton, Charlie was a captain of the hockey team from 2014-2016.
After college, Charlie took a job as the head strength and conditioning coach of the Northern Junior Cyclones. After a short stint with the Cyclones, Charlie landed an internship at Harvard University working with their strength and conditioning staff. During his time at Harvard he assisted in training all 42 varsity sports teams, as well as helping former athletes to prepare them for the NFL combine and other professional sports. Charlie’s most recent position before opening Bando Performance was working with Ben Prentiss at Prentiss Hockey Performance in Stamford, CT. Prentiss Hockey Performance was responsible for overseeing Boston University Hockey as well as consulting for the New York Rangers. During his time at PHP, Charlie assisted in training a handful of NHL/AHL athletes such as all stars Cam Atkinson, Kevin Shattenkirk, Matt Moulson, Max Paccioretty and James Neal as well as two time Stanley Cup champion Jonathan Quick. While at PHP, he also assisted in developing prospects for the New York Rangers and countless NCAA Division 1 athletes.
Since 2019, Charlie has grown Bando Performance into the largest footprint of strength and conditioning space in Massachusetts. With locations in Woburn, Wellesley, Worcester, Dedham & Bridgewater; Bando Performance is home to athletes ranging from youth to professional and Olympic athletes.
Charlie will also be responsible for directing strength and conditioning services for the Boston Fleet of the PWHL as well as the Worcester Railers (New York Islanders affiliate) of the ECHL.

Jason Byrne
Jason Byrne is a graduate of Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut, having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training and sports medicine. While attending Quinnipiac, he worked with baseball, women’s basketball and soccer as part of his clinical experience. Also, he worked with the football programs at Yale University and the University of Tennessee.
In 2012, Byrne became an athletic trainer and a performance coach for Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. While at Brandeis, he also served as a clinical preceptor and instructor for undergraduate and graduate sports medicine students attending Brandeis from Lasell University.

Arianna DiOrio
Arianna DiOrio is a graduate of Lasell University having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training in 2014.
She also served as a clinical preceptor for undergraduate and graduate athletic training students attending the university. DiOrio earned a master’s degree in rehabilitation sciences degree from Lasell University during this time.

Jeremy Conn
Jeremy Conn is a graduate of Union College in Schenectady, New York where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. A four-year member of the soccer team, he received All – Conference honors as a senior. In his final year at Union, Conn served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and had the opportunity to work with Football, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Men’s Lacrosse.

Dan Gluck
Dan received his BS in Athletic Training from the College of Health and Human Services at the University of New Hampshire in May of 2016. While at UNH, Dan played lacrosse and was named to the MCLA all-conference team and received the Scholar Athlete award his junior and senior years. During the summer of Dan’s junior year he went to Israel where he played in the Israel’s Premier Lacrosse League (IPLL). Post college, Dan also played for Team Israel during the Israel Lacrosse Boston Showcase, playing against Harvard, Boston University and Brown Division I Men’s lacrosse teams in the fall of 2019.
In spring of 2019 Dan started his first college strength coach internship with Harvard’s men’s hockey, lacrosse, football and basketball teams. Following Harvard Dan became a head strength coach at Edge Performance Systems, during his time there he also had his first internship with Boston University Men’s hockey, lacrosse and basketball teams. Dan was fortunate enough to work with Julian Edelman, his first New England Patriots player, during Julian’s Super Bowl MVP season in 2019.
Dan left EPS in 2021 to pursue his master’s degree at Boston University and work closely with Ken Whitter, former Bruins assistant strength coach and current head strength coach at BU men’s hockey. During his full time internship with the men’s hockey team he started working on the side with a new elite performance gym, Bando Performance. Dan later joined full time in the summer at the Worcester location training former Olympic hockey player and current railers captain Bobby Butler.
With the opening of Bando Performance’s third location in Dedham, Dan became the head coach under Director/Owner Charlie Bando.
Dan has worked with many Olympians, Professional, College, and Prep/High School athletes over the last 7 years as a strength and conditioning coach and athletic trainer. In his spare time he likes to play hockey and lacrosse as well as enjoy a nice meal with friends and family.

Mike Taksir
Mike Taksir is a graduate of Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology. While at Hofstra, Mike was an intern with Professional Athletic Performance Center where he was able to work with multiple MLB and NHL athletes. After graduating from Hofstra he began working for The Micheli Center, holding various roles within the Division of Sports Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital.
In his role at the Boston Sports Performance Center, he strives to help athletes improve performance and return to competition after overcoming an injury.
